Francisco Laverón is Head of Energy Prospective and Policy within the Technology Directorate at Iberdrola, a global leader in electrification, smart grids, and energy storage. Headquartered in Spain, Iberdrola has been at the forefront of the energy transition for more than two decades, delivering secure, competitive, and sustainable energy worldwide. Francisco is an Industrial Organization Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and holds a postgraduate specialization in Power Sector Economics from Carlos III University of Madrid. He brings over 30 years of professional experience in energy regulation, public policy, and long-term energy systems analysis. He began his career as an auditor and consultant in the Energy & Telecommunications Group at Arthur Andersen (now Deloitte) before joining Iberdrola in 1997. In his current role, he focuses on identifying long-term trends, technologies, and business models that will shape the global energy transition. Francisco represents Iberdrola in international and multilateral initiatives, including the Spanish Committee of the World Energy Council, the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, and EV100 of The Climate Group. He also serves as a liaison with global institutions such as the International Energy Agency or the World Economic Forum.
